Accuro EMR 2016.02 Release Notes
Highlights

Documents, Add Text, Highlighting and Signature

Text, Highlighting and/or a Signature can now be added to a document anywhere in Accuro. This text is included in any faxed copy or print out of a document. Each annotation that a user adds is selectable, movable, resizable and deletable. Users can now also highlight text and/or images on a document page as required. A signature can be added to any document a Provider receives, making signing and faxing back a much faster and simpler process. These features are available in Accuro anywhere that a document can be opened.

Prescription Interaction Management

Some new Prescription Interaction Management settings have been added to Accuro:

"Exclude Expired Active Medications" (the default for this setting is not selected): This option excludes an expired active medication from interaction checks. This new setting is located in the Prescription Warning Options window: from the Add Prescription Window click the Drug Dosage button > in the Screening Window click the options button at the bottom left of the window > select the "Exclude Expired Active Medications" checkbox.

"Prompt for Pediatric Dosage" (the default is enabled): This option gives users the ability to turn off pediatric dosage warning messages. When this option is unchecked the user is prompted that they will not be prompted and that these restrictions apply to all prescriptions for patients aged from 30 days to 17 years old. The new checkbox is accessed from the Add Prescription Window click the Drug Dosage button > in the Screening Window click the options button at the bottom left of the window > select the "Prompt for Pediatric Dosage" checkbox.

Provider Only Form Signature

A Provider can now add their signature to a form in Accuro by selecting the new option: "Type: Provider - User Only". If the document is subsequently printed out, the signature is only included on the hard copy if the user logged in is a Provider.

Change Prescription Status in Encounter Notes

Users can now also edit the SIG and change the status of prescriptions in Encounter Notes (previously they could only renew prescriptions from Encounter Notes). This is done in the Prescription Selection window that is displayed by clicking the Edit button (EMR > Encounter Notes > Active Medications ribbon in the Medical history section).

Faxing From the Home Section

Users can now fax a document from the Home area of Accuro. This can be done in either the Documents or the Labs folders, open a document and the new Fax button is located next to the Print button.

Notify a Pharmacy of a Discontinued Prescriptions

After a provider cancels a prescription (if the prescription was originally faxed to a pharmacy), Providers can now automatically send a message to the pharmacy informing them that the prescription has been cancelled. When cancelling the prescription (in the Medication window) there is now an "Include in Generated Prescription" checkbox, when selected a discontinuation prescription is automatically generated.

Prescription Window Improvements

The Prescription window has been updated to make it easier for users to be able to do more medication and allergy management without having to leave this window. Script Prescriptions are clearly displayed on the left of the window, these can be added and removed, as required. The "Save and New" button has been replaced by an "Add" button in the Script Prescriptions section. Allergies can now be managed from within the Prescriptions window (both drug and non-drug allergies) meaning a provider no longer has to leave the window to edit allergies. The main part of the prescription window functionality is unchanged, but the look and feel has been updated to make it more user friendly.

New Features

FEATURE

Medication Name

Accuro users not using First Data bank will now be able to view medications by their name (instead of by a string that included the name, strength, form and route).

NutriSTEP Preschooler and NutriSTEP Toddler Questionnaire Export (ON)

A CSV export of the form data for NutriSTEP can be manually run for clinics in Ontario. Both the NutriSTEP Preschooler questionnaire and the NutriSTEP Toddler questionnaire are available in the Ontario Forms Repository.

IMPROVEMENT

Accuro Feedback Message

The message displayed in the Accuro Feedback window has been updated to say "Feedback has been successfully sent to QHR Technologies Inc."

Billing Codes with Time Intervals (SK)

An update has been made so that time intervals are calculated to the next 15 minute interval (i.e. 25 minutes is billed a 2 x 15 minute time intervals). Previously, Accuro was not calculating a unit unless the full time for that interval was reached.

Changing Provider Availability Office, Medeo Online Booking

A warning message has been added to notify users that if they change the Provider availability office, the appointment is cancelled (the patient will receive an appointment cancellation email) and will need to be rebooked (but this will not be an online booking appointment).

Duplicate Prescription Warnings for the same Medication

An update has been made to prescription warnings, users are now warned if a prescription is created for a medication that the patient has already been prescribed.

Immunization Summary, Medical History

Having the Add and Edit Buttons on ribbon of the Immunization Summary (EMR > Encounter Notes > Medical History section) was causing confusion as both buttons are very similar. An update has been made so that if only the Immunization Schedule is visible, the Edit button is displayed; if the Immunization Summary is displayed, only the Add button is displayed.

Medical History Band Refresh

The Medical History band was not being refreshed after users made changes in the Prescription window. An update has been made and this is now fixed.

Query Alert Feature Access to Only Run

A new Feature Access option has been added to Query Alerts so that users can run a query independently of managing the alerts. These permissions are set by going to Alt > search 'Feature Access Management 'and enabling "Run Alerts (Query Builder)" under the Reports heading. Note: Feature Access can only be managed by System Administrative users.

Retired Vaccinations Module

An old legacy Vaccination module that is no longer used has been removed from the Accuro software. Users will not see any change to Accuro with this item.

Submission Manager (AB)

An update has been made to the Claims area of Accuro. There is a new Submission Manager window, To access this window, click the Submission Manager button at the bottom right of the Claims window (to the right of the Assessments button). In the Submission Manager window that opens, there are new Undo and Redo Submission buttons

Time Slots in a Multi Office Setup (Medeo Online Booking)

Updates have been made to the Accuro multi-office setup and Medeo Online Booking. If the office associated with a time slot cannot be determined, the user is notified and the time slots are not sent to Medeo.

REFACTOR

Active Medical History

An update has been made to ensure that Accuro reuses medical history information in the different modules (rather than unnecessarily accessing the database). This will improve the performance of Accuro, although users will not see any visual changes.

Form Synchronization, Medical History

While investigating another issue our development team found that the synchronization of forms is not working properly. An update has been made and this is now fixed.

Medical History

Changes have been made to the way the Medical History is saved in the database. Users will not see any differences in Accuro with this item.

Refreshing Patient's Medical History

An update has been made to improve the performance of the EMR by refreshing a patient's Medical History, rather than clearing and reloading it from scratch.

Saving Letters

An update has been made to the way Accuro saves letters. By making the software do this more efficiently, the performance in Accuro will be improved.

Wait Room

Updates have been done to the way the Wait Room accesses the database. This change was made to improve the speed and efficiency of Accuro for users when they are in the Wait Room.

An update has been made to ensure that the Accuro Medication tables are up to date for the first use of 2016.02.

Bill with Predefined Prefix (MB)

When a bill was created and the prefix is applied as part of the Procedure Code, the bill amount was not being calculated correctly. An update has been made to ensure that all bills with predefined prefixes are now calculated correctly.

Claim Window (ON)

An update has been made to the sizing of the Claim window to ensure that it displays correctly for all possible screen resolutions.

Provider Availability Conflict, Medeo Online Booking

An icon was recently added which displays for Scheduler Suggestions that aren't available due to Provider availability conflict. One of the checks that this new feature makes wasn't working correctly. An update has been made and this is now fixed.

RMA Billing Codes (ON)

RMA Billing Codes were generating an error for clinics where they were not configured correctly. An update has been made to ensure the RMA Billing Codes now work correctly for all sites (with RMA Billing enabled).

Visit Count, Traffic Manager

Following a recent change, the visit count displayed in the Traffic Manager wait room was only including appointments if the current time was after the start time of the appointment. An update has been made so that the visit count once again includes all appointments for the days selected, irrespective of the time of day.
