Release Notes For 2012.10

Accuro©EMR is the most recent version of Accuro available. The reason for no version number is because Optimed is going to a more regular release schedule to avoid large annual releases. Optimed is now offering 6-week updates to all customers. This means that roughly every 6 weeks we will provide a release in the form of “Update Accuro” which you can run at your convenience. Note that once you update one of your computers, all of your computers will need the update run.

The release notes below are dated. When you apply the update, you will receive all changes since your last update. To find the last date you updated, login to Accuro and click Help > About > Details.

Billing

Billing Group # (ON)

Multiple group numbers can now be added in the provider configuration wizard. A user can also select the default group number which is displayed with an * next to it on the claim. To access group numbers in the provider wizard press F2 (Provider Management) > click the Configure button > click Next > Group Numbers are listed in Step 2 Billing Options.

Billing Period Reports (ON)

For Ontario customers, there is now a new set of billing reports allowing set monthly billing periods that can be closed and reported on. This is to support clinics that require monthly balancing with any changes to prior months reflected as adjustments in the current month. To get started, please contact Optimed for more information as this feature does require preparation in order to properly deal with current billing before the effective date of turning on Billing Periods.

Once enabled the reports can be accessed by selecting Ctrl+R form anywhere in Accuro.

Change Major/Minor Classification of Procedure Codes (BC)

Users can now change the major/minor classification of procedure codes. A field name Classification has been added to Manage Procedures and allows the user to select Major, Minor or None. The classification field is only available if the site has custom reports. To access the classification field click Billing > select Options > select Manage Procedures.

Generating the 529 Form (MB)

The 529 form can now be generated from the Not Reconciled and Remittances tab. To generate this form select the Claims icon > click the Not reconciled or Remittances tab > select a response > right-click and select 529 Form.

Multiple Macros

Users will be able to multi-select more than one billing macro in the Apply Macro window. This applies all the codes within all selected macros to the claim. If the same procedure is listed under more than one of the selected macros only the first instance of the procedure is included.  When a macro is selected from the search popup (on a selected macro) is appended in the existing claim instead of replacing the claim. The selected procedure is not replaced unless the Procedure Code is 0 (zero).

To access macros select the Claims icon > select the appropriate tab > right click on a claim and select Apply Macro.


Labels

Label Wizard

In Accuro you can make your own labels (File > Label > Label Wizard). New in this release are two fields you can use: <CURRENTDATE> and <CURRENTTIME>. Right click on the row in the label wizard to see the list of tags to include.. To access these new items click File > select Label > click Label Wizard > right-click in a field and select Details > select <CURRENTDATE> or <CURRENTTIME>.


Labs

Excelleris Diagnostic Imaging and Labs (BC)

Excelleris is now delivering diagnostic imaging reports combined with the regular labs to providers inboxes. An update has been made so that regular labs and diagnostic imaging results are now separated out rather than being contained in one file.

Filtering Lab Summary in Encounter Notes

A preference “Filter zero-length lab results" has been added when selected this removes any lab results with no text from the lab summary in Encounter Notes. To select this preference click Users > select Manage Security > click System settings > click the General tab > Filter zero-length lab results.

Lab Results in Templates

An change has been made to forms so when a lab result is queried all linked lab results are now pulled. Prior to this update only the primary result was pulled. To access templates click Tools > select Template Wizard.

Lab Summary in Encounter Notes

An update has been made to the labs section of encounter notes. When a user selects the lab summary option any linked lab results are now also shown. To view the lab summary select the EMR icon > click the Encounter Notes tab > in the Labs section right-click a lab result and select Lab Summary.

Life Labs Provider Matching (ON)

An update has been made so that labs are not matched on provider name; they are matched on the OHIP provider number.


Other

Update Auto Complete Window

The update auto complete window has been updated so that only one item at a time can be selected. This was because the remove button does not support multi-select functionality. To access the auto complete list window click Tools > select Update > click Update Auto Complete List.


Patient Demographics

Audit Logging for Role Specific Global Messages

Role specific global messages are now recorded in the Update Patient activity area of the audit logs. To access the audit logs click Users > select Manage Security > click the Audit Logs tab.


Reporting

Fee Code by Site Report (ON)

An option to group by site (default) or by provider, site has been added to the Fee Code by Site report. To access reports from anywhere in Accuro press Ctrl+R.

Surgical / Medical History in Alerts (Query Builder)

An update has been made so that surgical / medical history is now available in Alerts (Query Builder) Surgical / Medical History is a section listed under the EMR category. To access Alerts (Query Builder) click Reports > select Alerts (Query Builder).

    Fixed Issues

    Attachments With Custom Lab Summary

    When sending a message to another user that included a custom lab summary, if the recipient only has their own custom lab views the lab view displayed was different.  If the recipient has no custom lab views then they were unable to view the lab. An update has been made so the recipient can now view the lab summary as it was sent. To access messages click the Home icon > double-click the Mail folder.

    Claim Forms

    A general check and update was made to claim forms to ensure that all component fields are enabled/disabled correctly when a claim form is first created. To access claims select the Claims icon.

    Color Coding of Items in the Virtual Chart

    Entries in the color coding table in the virtual chart and the form category are now trimmed of any extra spaces. This will ensure that they are color coded correctly because the spaces before or at the end were being treated as different names. To color code items select the EMR icon > click the Virtual Chart tab > click the Gear button.

    Creating an Adv. Letter

    When creating an adv. letter for a patient the letter generation window was not displaying when it should. An update has been made to that the letter can now be created and generated correctly. To create an adv. letter select the EMR icon > click the Encounter Notes tab > press Ctrl+F11 > select the appropriate template > complete the letter > click Generate Letter.

    Double-clicking on a Prescription

    Since the medication update double-clicking on an entered prescription in the Medications tab did not work. Previously this action would cause the Manage Prescription window to display. An update has been released so that when a prescription is double-clicked the Manage Prescription window now displays. To access the medications tab select the EMR icon > click the Medications tab.

    Hidden Form Text Fields

    Some text fields were being hidden if Accuro considered them to be too close to the edge of the form. An update has been made so that all text fields are displayed including those that are at the edge of a form. Forms can be accessed by selecting the EMR icon > click the Encounter Notes tab > click the down-arrow in the Clinical Notes section. To edit a form in the component editor click Tools > select Form Editor

    Insurer Payments for Zero Balance Bills

    An update has been so if a claim has any rows with a balance of zero they are no longer automatically included in the apply payments to bills to. To access insurer payments click Reports > select Insurer Payments.

    Lab Document Processing

    An update has been made so that labs are not marked as processed if the document cannot be saved to the accdocs folder (e.g. if the user does not have the correct sharing setup for the accdocs folder).

    Multi-selecting Active Medications

    The favorite prescriptions window allows users to multi-select medications. Once these are selected the edit and delete buttons can now be used to make changes to the favorite items. To access the favorite prescriptions window select the EMR icon > click the Encounter Notes tab > click the Star in the Active Medications section.

    Not on File Report (ON)

    The not on file report has been updated to only show remittances that have been explicitly marked Not on File. Previously it was also including all unmatched remittances. To access reports from anywhere within Accuro press Ctrl+R.

    Printing Images with High Resolution (Mac Users Only)

    Mac released a JVM update on September 4th that has a bug reporting imageable size. This affects OSX Lion and OSX Mountain Lion. Image Viewer uses this in printing images. The result was a print that has 0.5" top and left margin and 1.5" bottom and right margin. This update fixes the issues with printing high resolution images.

    Scheduler Templates Names

    Creating a scheduler template with the same name as an existing template was causing a message saying that their input was not accepted to be displayed. An update has been made so that if a user creates a template with exactly the same name as an existing template an appropriately worded message is now displayed. To access scheduler templates select the Scheduler icon > click the Calendar button (at the bottom of the window) > click the Schedule Templates tab.

    Update Dictionary

    The update dictionary screen no longer allows users to type in duplicates. Previously duplicates could be entered but they couldn’t be saved. To access update dictionary click Tools > select Update > click Dictionary.

    Waitlist Popup

    The waitlist popup no longer displays for users booking an appointment for a patient on the waitlist if they (the user) do not have access to the waitlist area of Accuro.

    Zero Prefix Service Codes (AB)

    An update has been made so service codes with a leading zero no longer revert to zero when users navigate away from the service code section of the claim details window. To access claim details select the Claims icon > select the appropriate tab > right-click on a claim and select Claim Details.
