Billing

Apply SSC Code to Multiple Claims (BC)

Accuro has been updated to allow the SCC code to be applied to multiple claims at the same time. To access this option click Claims > select the appropriate claims tab > click to select the claims (use the Ctrl+click or Shift+click to select multiple claims) > right-click on one of the selected claims > select Options > select Set Service Clarification Code.

Billing Periods, Future Date Warnings

If your site has Billing Periods enabled and payments are applied to private bills with a date in the future, a warning message is displayed, “This claim has a date of service in the future, do you still want to apply your payment?” This payment will not show up when looking at the current Billing Period because the claim does not have a date in the current Billing Period.

Gross Billed Amount and Gross Tax Amount (MB)

This is only available if your site has Billing Periods enabled. Accuro has been updated to include Gross Billed Amount and Gross Tax Amount fields on a bill. These fields are completed when the bill is first submitted or included on an invoice. The Gross Billed Amount is now also displayed when viewing the Claim History for a patient. To view the Claim History click Claims > select the appropriate claim tab > right-click on a claim > select Claim History.

PST Override (SK and MB)

Override PST has been added as an option in billing. This option can be found by clicking Claims > Select the appropriate tab > right-click on the bill and select Options > select Override PST.

Record Number of Lines in Submission File (MB)

In the submission management window at the end of the submission, the number of lines in the submission is now recorded. This is in the form “X Records” where X represents the number of lines in the submission.

SSC Code Added to Batch Billing (BC)

The SSC code can now be configured in Batch Billing Settings. To access Batch Billing Settings click Claims > select the appropriate billing tab > right-click on a claim and select Claim Details > click Batch Billing at the top of the claim window > select Batch Billing Settings > SSC is located towards the bottom of the small window displayed.

Validate Claims (MB)

An update has been made to allow users who do not have permissions to submit claims to be able to validate them prior to submission. To validate claims click Claims > the validate/approve Claims button is at the bottom right of the window (with the tick on it).


Documents

Created On Date Displayed in Document Previewer

When viewing a document in the document previewer, the Created On date is now displayed below the document text and just above the navigation buttons. To view a document in the document previewer, click EMR > click the Virtual Chart tab > right click on the appropriate document and select Preview.

Document Thumbnails

Document thumbnails have been updated to help Web Accuro users. Web Accuro has a set memory limit and large folders with many thumbnails use up the available memory. Accuro has been updated to load only the thumbnails that are visible and clear those that go out of view when scrolling therefore keeping the memory usage as low as possible.

Edit Document Type and Sub-Type in Preview Window

Accuro has been enhanced to allow the Type or Sub-Type (if enabled) to be edited from within the Preview window. To Preview a document click EMR > click the Virtual Chart tab > right click on the appropriate document > select Preview.


Encounter Notes

Close Notes Prompt

Accuro has been updated to include a prompt to close any open forms, CDM worksheets, chart items or Clinical Notes when a different patient is selected. When the prompt is displayed, the user has the option to “leave open” or “save and close”. There is also a checkbox to, “Remember my choice and not to show the message again.”

Encounter Note Tooltip Position

For the Toolips on encounter notes (opened by clicking on the magnifying glass icon next to each note), the tooltip display will open to the left of the icon instead of the the right. This was done so the medical history is still visible while the tooltip is displayed. To find this, go to EMR > Encounter Notes Tab > Magnifying Glass icon next to the Note.

INR Tracking

INR tracking has been updated to allow free-text to be entered. The column header “Next INR Weeks” has been updated to “Next INR”. INR tracking can be found by clicking EMR > click the Encounter Notes tab > click the INR button in the Labs section at the bottom of the window.


External Communication

Backup Files

Accuro has been updated to enable larger backup files to be saved and compressed correctly. This was only an issue to sites with a database size larger than 4GB.  Backups can be created by clicking Backup on the Menu bar > click Create Backup from the list displayed.


Faxing

Generated Letter Attachments

Accuro has been updated so that when a generated letter with an attachment is printed; the attachment has the correct status of printed. To access Generated Letters click EMR > click the Encounter Notes tab > right-click on the appropriate item and select Generate Letter.

Long Distance Faxing

When faxing if the long distance checkbox is selected you will now be prompted with the following message, “Would you like to save this long distance setting in the Address Book for this contact?” If the user selects “Yes” then the long distance setting will be saved for future reference. If the user selects “No”, the fax will be sent long distance this time, but next time the user will need to remember to select the long distance checkbox. Faxes can be accessed by clicking the Faxes link at the bottom of the lilac Side bar.


Labs

Clinical Growth Chart

Growth Charts have been updated to open the correct chart based on a child’s age. Growth Charts can be found by clicking Tools on the Menu bar > select Clinical Growth Charts.

Printing Lab Panels / Attaching Lab Panel to a Letter

Accuro has been updated to enable Lab Panels to be printed from the right-click menu option. The selected contents are printed in a format based on the view the current user has selected. To print the Lab Panel click the EMR button > click the Encounter Notes tab > Labs is displayed at the bottom of the window > select the required data > right-click and select Print.

In the Generate Letters there is now an option to include a selected Custom Lab panel as an attachment. To access this new feature click EMR > click the Encounter Notes tab > right click on the appropriate item and select Generate Letter > in the Attachments section click the Add button > the Lab available are at the bottom of the Select Attachments dialog > click to select the appropriate Labs.

Reference Range in Manual Lab Entry

A Reference Range for a lab value can now be added in the Manual Lab Entry area of Accuro. Double-click in the Ref Range column and type in the reference range for the selected observation. Manual Lab Entry can be found by clicking EMR > click the Encounter Notes tab > click the Add button in the Labs section (at the bottom of the window) > click to select the Lab > click Select > double-click in the Ref Range column to enter the reference range for an observation.


Patient Demographics

Card Reader (ON and BC)

When reading data into Accuro, text is now capitalized; the first character in every word is upper case, the remaining letters are lower case (e.g. Jane Doe). The exceptions to this are gender, health numbers, province and postal codes.

Care Card Expires on Birthday (ON)

Patient Demographics has been updated to use the day of the month of the birthday as the care card expiry date as the care card is supplied with only the YYMM and no day value.

Patient Demographics Updates (ON)

The Current Enrolled Status and enroll / terminate actions have been moved from the Provider Enrollment tab to the Demographics tab. The Provider Enrollment tab has been renamed the Provider Enrollment History tab. The enrollment status is now available as a patient tag for the Status bar. To view these changes, click EMR > the Demographics tab and Provider Enrollment History tab are displayed towards the top of the window.

Patient Flags – New Wheelchair Icon

A new wheelchair icon has been added to Patient Flags. Patient Flags can be accessed by clicking F7 (Patient Tasks) > right-click in the white background and select New Flag > click Manage > click the add button and select the wheelchair icon.


Physician

Auto-Capitalization of Last Names

Accuro auto-capitalizes last names including last name prefixes (e.g. Dr. Cornelius Van Der Merwe) when contacts are added and saved in the Address Book. If your clinic does not want auto-capitalization this can now be turned off in User Preferences. To access User Preferences, click File on the Menu bar > select User Preferences > click Display > click the General tab >The “Capitalize Compound Last Name Prefixes” can be found in the left-hand column.

Provider Security

Accuro has been updated to prevent users from changing a Provider Name, Billing Number or Fax Number. New feature permissions have been created for Edit Office Providers (default ON) and Configure Office Providers (default ON). The following new feature permission Import Physician registry (default OFF except for administrators) has been created for MB sites.

When the Edit Office Providers is “OFF” The Provider Management window (F2) and Provider Search/Edit window are read-only.

Import Physician Registry is accessed by clicking Tools >select Admin Tools >select Import Physician Registry.


Prescriptions

Claims, 60B, 61B and 62B Warning Message (SK)

Accuro has been updated so when procedure codes 60B, 61B and 62B are entered in a claim form only one warning message popup is displayed.

Editing Prescriptions

When editing a SIG or renewing a prescription and there is still a quantity of the medication remaining, a warning message is added to the pharmacist section to alert the pharmacist. The message says “Attention: Pharmacist. This script reflects a dosage change with a new refill and quantity instruction/Requirement.” Renewing a Medication or editing a SIG can be done by clicking EMR > click the Medications tab > click the appropriate medication > right click and select Edit > select SIG.

Prescription Disclaimer Font

Accuro now checks that the style selected for the Prescription Disclaimer  exists and if it doesn’t then the style used is the same as the prescriptionsmall style. Styles can be configured by clicking pressing F2 to display the Provider Management window > click the Configure button > click the Next button until you reach the reach the Edit Headers section.

Prescription updates

All Provinces: In accordance with CMS4 Prescriptions has been updated: Refill Qty has been added to the Prescription tab. The Pharmacy Contact and To Be Picked Up date fields have been added to the Instructions tab as well as a Protocol Identifier checkbox.

Ontario only: In accordance with CMS4 Prescriptions has been updated:  On the Prescriptions tab Drug Use has been updated to allow the user to choose: Acute, Continuous Chronic, One Time, PRN Long Term: As Needed, PRN Short term: As Needed. On the Instructions tab a new checkbox Non-Authoritative Indicator has been added.


Reporting

Period Fee Revenue Report (MB)

A new report called Period Fee Revenue Report is now available. This report totals by health service code for each provider.  The Period Fee Revenue Report also enables selection of current or past closed periods. This report is only available if your clinic has the billing module turned on. To access this report press Ctrl+R anywhere in Accuro, the report is displayed in the Billing section listed on the left-hand side of the Reports window.


Scheduling

Archive Appointment

Appointments can now be archived if your user has this feature permission enabled. Archive Appointment can be accessed by either clicking Scheduler on the Menu bar or by pressing F4 to display the Quick Patient Appointment View window and it is a right-click menu option.

Archived Appointment History, Quick Patient Appointments View

The Archived Appointment History has been updated to remember, on a user basis, if “All Years” or a specific year was selected. Next time the Archived Appointment History is selected, it remembers the specific user preference. Archived Appointment History can be found by pressing F4 to open the Quick Patient Appointments View > click the Archived Appointment History tab.

Batch Print Chart Sheets

The ability to print multiple chart sheets has been added to Accuro. The User can select the Provider, Chart Sheet, Start Date and End Date. Batch Chart Sheets can be accessed by clicking Tools > select Batch Chart Sheets or by pressing Ctrl+F9.

Next Appointment Messages

When reviewing Labs and Documents the bottom of the window displays the next appointment details, this includes the Provider with whom the patient has the next appointment. The Providers name is displayed but not their title. Labs and Documents can be accessed by clicking Home > click the Labs or Documents folder.


Security

Audit Logs

In accordance with CMS 4 the Audit Logs have been updated to ensure that all add/change/delete operations on all non-medical record data are logged (this includes permissions).

Provider Configuration Wizard

When an update is made using the Provider Configuration Wizard the message “Provider Configuration Updated” is now stored in the Provider Configuration log. The Provider Configuration Wizard can only be accessed by administrators and can be found by clicking Configuration on the Menu bar > click Configure Accuro > click Next > click the Provider Wizard radio button > click Next > amend the details as required.

Screen Lock Default Button

Accuro has been updated, the logout button is no longer set as the default selection when the screen is locked. This will prevent users from being logged out when they press the space bar to refresh the screen.

Window Title Bar Masked

Accuro has been updated to mask the Title bar at the top of the window at the same time as the window is blurred. Pressing Alt+F12 blurs the main part of the window and the Title bar which may contain patient details now displays ** Masked**. Press Alt+F12 again to return the window to normal.


Waitlist

Procedure Area Filter in Waitlist

The procedure area has been added to the filter options in the Waitlist dialog.
