Accuro Mobile
A new feature has been added to Accuro Mobile a chart note can now be created from within the Scheduler. Click an appointment to view the Appointment Details and click the “New Chart Note” link.
Billing
The 529 Form is now available in Accuro. When displayed the Request for Manitoba Health Registration Numbers is populated with the current Provider’s demographics. The form loads the current patient’s details and can be edited to include up to nine patients in total. To access the 529 form, right click on a claim and select Generate and then 529 Form. Once completed this form can be either faxed or printed and mailed to Manitoba Health.
In Ontario Billing a typographical correction has been made to the Cumulative Preventative Care Bonus. The Fiscal Year Ending field has been updated so that it does not display with a comma in the year.
Manage Procedures in BC Billing has been updated to allow the “Private Billing Amount” to be edited. Prior to this update this amount was only updated when a clinic imported the BCMA pricelist. When using Billing>Options>Manage Procedures clinics you now see and edit the Private Billing Amount.
In the Billing section of Accuro, the insurer addresses can now be edited. This feature has been added because there are often different addresses for insurers depending upon the location of your clinic(s).
This is a software enhancement for AB clients. A new security setting “Enter Any Business Arrangement # On Bill” has been added. The default is enabled and this allows the user to edit the text in the Business Arrangement field. If this setting is disabled then the user cannot edit the text in the Business Arrangement area of a Claim. Only sleect existing values. This security setting can be found in Users>Manage Security>Feature Access>Role Permissions. Click the Billing role and “Enter Any Business Arrangement # On Bill” can be found in the Claims section.
Updates have been made to the Billed and Paid, Submission, Remittance Summary and Remittance Totals reports. The report grouping options now include the ability to group by Practitioner #. To access these reports click Reports>Reporting (or Ctrl+R).
The Submission manager has been enhanced to display the total number of claims as well as the total number of bills.
Encounter Notes
A new feature has been added to the Accuro software enabling the Medical History Bands to be office specific. This means that different offices can have these customized to suit their exact requirements.
To set up the Medical History Bands go to Manage Security and select System Settings. Click the Configure Histories button displayed at the bottom of the window. This opens the Edit Custom History Types dialog.
Click the “+” button next to the office dropdown to add an office. Once you have an office selected, enable or disable the bands, as required.
When new Medical History Bands are created the prompt, “Should this Medical History Band only be enabled for the selected office?” If “Yes” is selected then the band is only available for the selected office. If “No” is selected then the band is available for all offices.
Clinical Notes and Templates have been enhanced to enable Custom Histories to be added individually instead of using the <CUSTOM HISTORIES> tag and adding as a group. This allows clinics more flexibility in deciding where in a template/letter/clinical note the information is displayed.
A software enhancement has been included in this release to adjust the lock on clinical notes to lock immediately. There is a setting in Accuro to allow “Manually Locked Letter Can be Edited Until Midnight” (on the day they were locked). This can be found in Users>Manage Security>System Settings>General tab. This system setting defaults to On to match the existing workflow.
A checkbox is now available to enable open provider access to providers from all offices. This checkbox can be found in Manage Security on a new tab called Security. When enabled, chart items will filter to all providers the user has access to in all offices instead of just the currently selected office.
The new Open Provider Access to Providers from All Offices setting does not change who shows up in the available providers’ drop-down list. But it does filter what is displayed when loading a chart in the EMR.
In the EMR Provider Permissions a new level of access has been added “Read Only.” This setting allows users to see provider records but not edit them. “Read Only” can be accessed from within Tools>Manage Security>Roles and then select the appropriate Role. A lock will display on the checkmark in Provider Permissions.
A software update has been made to allow all users to view all of the rx items in the EMR. A checkbox has been added that can “Exclude Prescriptions from EMR Provider Permissions. “ To be able to change the status of this checkbox the user must have the role of System Administrator. This checkbox can be found at Users>Manage Security>System Settings. Click the General tab and this option is located near the bottom of the window.
External Communication
Accuro has been enhanced so when feedback is submitted to Optimed (Help > Submit Feedback) a log file is automatically uploaded and sent to Optimed. This means that clinics will no longer have to submit a log manually after having submitted feedback.
Forms
The Diabetic CDM Flowsheet has been updated so all normal ranges for target labels are now displayed.
Labs
A new feature has been added to Accuro whereby if the “Default Lab Entry Review State by Provider and Lab Test” checkbox is selected when you add Manual Lab Entries, Accuro remembers your users Review and Send to Provider selections and uses these as defaults next time.
This option can enabled in Tools>Manage Security>System Settings and click the General tab. The “Default Lab Entry Review State by Provider and Lab Test” checkbox is located towards the bottom of the tab.
The Growth Charts in Accuro have been updated to the current WHO Growth Charts. These can be found at Tools>Clinical Growth Charts. This replaces use of the CDC growth charts.
Messaging/Tasks
In the Tasks area of Accuro, this is accessed by clicking Home on the Side bar. A Roles filter has been added. By clicking the down-arrow and selecting a role from the drop-down list only tasks assigned to the selected role are displayed. If users have more than one role in your clinic, they can select all roles applicable to their job.
A new column has been added to the Accuro software in the Home>Tasks>Sent section. Icons are now displayed for “Completed” and “Not Completed” making it easy to identify tasks that have been completed and those that are still outstanding. This will also assist in determining how quickly tasks are being completed.
Patient Demographics
The expiry date is now taken from The Ontario Health Card when it is swiped and available.
Office provider filtered patient searches can now be performed. This is a new option that has to be enabled before it can be used. To enable, in Manage Security, select Offices and click the Preferences tab. Select the Office Provider Filtered Patient Searches checkbox.
Non-Provider Users, this search includes only patients where the office provider for the patient is one that the user (performing the search) has patient permissions to in that office.
Provider Users, this search includes patients where the office provider for the patient being displayed is the provider of that user.
A checkbox is displayed at the bottom of the results dialog that allows the Patient Search to be re-run without the provider filter. If the search is re-run it returns all matching patients. This checkbox is not displayed if the Office Provider Filtered Patient Searches is not enabled.
Performance
Accuro has had some enhancements made in this release to improve response and execution times.
Enhancements have been made to the EMR section of Accuro to be more responsive while editing a patient chart.
Physician
The Optimed Provider Registy is updated by Optimed quarterly. Accuro can now be updated with all the demographics of the Provider Registry. This new feature can be found in Tools>Admin Tools and select import Physician Registry. This update will need to be run every 3 months.
Only System Administrators can run this.
Prescriptions
A new feature has been added to the Active Medications list. Any expired medications remaining on the Active Medication list are now displayed in red, making them easily identifiable.
The Prescription software has been updated to ensure that any whole numbers are displayed as an integer, for example, 5 rather than 5.0. This is a safety enhancement and will eliminate any possibility of misreading a decimal place.
Reporting
This software update includes a new report “Statement of Account.” This report creates statements of total amounts owing for each insurer. Each insurer is listed on a separate page enabling these statements to be mailed to the insurer(s). The information contained on the report is Invoice #, Patient, Provider, Date, Service and Amount. This report can be access by clicking Reports>Reporting and selecting “Statement of Account” from the Billing section.
A new selection called “Cancelled Appointments” has been added in Query Alerts. This can be found at: Reports> Alerts (Query Builder). When creating a new rule select the Category of “Appointments” and select “Cancelled Appointments” from the list displayed.
This allows the user to select just cancelled appointments. When the report is run, two additional columns are displayed in the results table, “Appointment Cancelled” and “Cancelled Reason.”
Scheduling
The Appointment Cancellation Reason in the Scheduler area of Accuro has been enhanced to allow an editable text field and drop-down list. This means that your clinic’s common cancellation reasons can be stored and used repeatedly.
The Appointment Reasons can have descriptions of up to 200 characters has been added. These descriptions are editable and are now available in Forms and also as Tags. This enables more flexibility for clinics to keep text as a minimum when using descriptions internally. On forms and external documentation using the descriptions in the lookup, the Appointment Reasons can be more verbose.
Security
The Inbox Provider Permissions software has been enhanced to ensure that a Provider always has access to their Inbox irrespective of the permissions set for this provider.
